Abraham Pov. Talirunili ᐊᐃᐊᔭᑲ ᑕᓕᕈᓂᓕ ᐱᐅᕕ (1927-1994)
Abraham Pov. Talirunili was born in a small camp south of Puvirnituq. He was the son of Joe Talirunili. Abraham began carving in 1950 shortly after James Houston arrived in Inukjuak. The addition “Pov” in his name was made by the Hudson’s Bay Company to distinguish him from the already well known carver Abraham Nastapoka.
